Challenge:

Create a physical cube no greater than 6"x6" that should look as if one should/can: 

rub it, turn it, squeeze it.

 

My inspiration came from children's toy blocks as they were playful as well as educational; they encourage kids to learn from the different forms and the behavior of physical objects while interacting with them. 

 

Turn:

The dowel makes it possible for people to rotate the cube. The asymmetrical vertical lines on the corner also make people want to turn the cube and see what’s on the other side.

 

Rub:

The vertical lines on corners also make people want to rub the surface.

 

Squeeze:

The stress ball inside the cube and the gap between two blocks gives people a visual suggestion to squeeze the two blocks towards each other.
